CORE PASSAGE: Hebrews 11:11
Abram wasn’t the only person in this story who got a name change. Sarai was Abram’s wife (Genesis 11:29) and half sister (Genesis 20:12). God changed Abram’s name to Abraham, and He also changed Sarai’s name to Sarah, which means “princess” (Genesis 17:15).
Sarah helped her husband show hospitality to the three visitors who came to tell them that they would have a son (Genesis 18:6). Although she laughed at the thought of having a baby in her old age (Genesis 18:12), lied about it and later tried to work out God’s plans on her own (Genesis 16:1-3), she is known as a woman of faith (Hebrews 11:11).
Sarah gave birth to her son Isaac when she was 90 years old, 25 years after God’s Promise. She died at Hebron at the age of 127 years and was buried in the cave of Machpelah, which Abraham bought from Ephron the Hittite (Genesis 23:1-2). She is the only woman in Scripture whose age of death is recorded.

• We must be patient and trust in God and His promises.

• We can know that ‘nothing is too hard for the Lord’.
